A request has been submitted to rezone the property at 4760 Perkins Road (south side of Perkins near Glasgow Ave.) from A1 Single-Family Residential to NC Neighborhood Commercial.
This would open the door to commercial uses such as gas stations, convenience stores, restaurants, retail, and more.
The Southside Civic Association has long stood for no new commercial zoning on the south side of Perkins, to preserve the residential character, reduce traffic, and prevent further commercial creep.

The Planning Commission will consider this request on Monday, November 17, 2025.
